Candace Littell, MBA, serves as a senior advisor and counselor for corporate clients, associations and related organizations. She is an executive with nearly 30 years of diverse experience in healthcare financing, reimbursement, policy, strategy and advocacy.
Strategic Reimbursement Planning
From 1995 to 2008, Ms. Littell was President of Littell Group, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in strategic reimbursement planning and policy analysis for medical technology companies. The company served Fortune 500 firms, as well as start-ups, in assessing market opportunities for new products and strategic ventures, with particular attention to the public and private reimbursement environment. With Littell Group strategic roadmaps in hand, companies were better able to plan product development, market segmentation, and strategic advocacy efforts with public and private payers.
Health Insurance Reform
Ms. Littell served as Vice President of Payment and Policy for the Advanced Medical Technology Association, an organization representing developers and manufacturers of medical devices and diagnostic products, headquartered in Washington DC. In this capacity, she led the association’s work on public and private healthcare financing, payment and insurance reform.
Medicare Payment Policy
As a Senior Health Policy Analyst for the Congressional advisory group now known as the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission, Ms. Littell was responsible for a number of key Medicare payment issues including capital payment policy, hospital outpatient payment reform, and healthcare system organization and financial reporting.
Research and Advocacy Support
Ms. Littell served as Executive Director of the Health Care Technology Institute, a privately funded organization supporting research relating to the clinical and economic impact of the health care technology industry and its products. She led the development and implementation of the institute’s research program and served as its principal spokesperson among policymakers and the media.
Healthcare Financial Management and Information Systems
Ms. Littell was a management consultant for the public accounting firm Ernst & Young, where she was responsible for strategic information systems planning for hospitals and related healthcare facilities. She also served as a financial analyst for a Virginia-based hospital system now known as Sentara Healthcare, where she performed extensive work in financial modeling, Medicare cost reporting and state rate review submissions.
Organization Governance
From 1999 to 2008, Ms. Littell served as a member of the board of directors of Respironics, a global provider of innovative medical products for the sleep and respiratory markets, and chaired the company’s Corporate Governance Committee. In 2008, the firm was acquired by Philips Healthcare. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Chautauqua Institution and has previously served on the boards of not-for-profit organizations involved in healthcare delivery for uninsured populations. Ms. Littell holds a certificate of director education from the National Association of Corporate Directors.

Ms. Littell holds an MBA degree in finance from Golden Gate University and BS degree in resource development from the University of Rhode Island.
